Erik's Bio

Erik Weber (drums and vocals)

Originally born and raised in the Northwestern suburbs of Philadelphia, Erik relocated to Michigan to attend college in late 1992. During the very first week of school, Erik and BJ were introduced - and the rest, as they say, is history.

Erik is an accomplished drummer and vocalist, drawing upon decades of performance experience dating back to his early childhood. In fact, 2009 is Erik's 25th anniversary of playing the drums, having first picked up the sticks in 1984 as a not-quite-10-year-old. Initially instructed by jazzman William Cahn, Erik's drumming has been influenced by the likes of Alan White (Yes), Bill Brufford (Yes), Stewart Copeland (The Police), Manu Kache (Peter Gabriel, Sting), Phil Collins (Genesis), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), and Neil Peart (Rush).

Erik's musical experience includes years of chorus/choir, jazz ensemble, marching drum line, and original bands, including most recently Driven by Steam (roots rock/pop, along with BJ) and Gag Order (borderline-progressive modern rock).

Erik is a graduate of both Penn State University and The University of Michigan and currently resides in Canton with his wife and three children.
