Aric's Bio

Once described as an old soul by his aunt, Aric "Ace" Kirkland cut his teeth on early Beatles, Elvis and Buddy Holly records. When all of his friends got swept up in the 80s rap phenomenon, Columbia House (remember that scam?) shipped him Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and his soul was saved by that southern twang and Rickenbacker chime. In the early 90s, Aric tolerated the Nirvana and Pearl Jam tracks on 89X to get to the Pixies, REM, BNL and DMB. Nowadays, he really appreciates anyone who can bang out a story with an acoustic guitar in their hand... John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Jeff Tweedy, Bruce Springsteen, et al.

Equipment-wise... Aric loves Strats, Les Pauls and Rickenbackers plugged into Line6 amp modellers. Unplugged, he’ll go with the Martin and Tacoma products. Strings...he’ll try to put back whatever the manufacturer shipped the guitar with, as he says, "They are probably smarter than me." Most importantly, he likes the Nike Free Cross Trainer when he is stomping on pedals.  Just Do It.
